Whyte Avenue Transforms Into Fashion Avenue

In recent years, Western Canada Fashion Week has held their shows at the TransAlta Arts Barns.  Edmonton's Whyte Avenue is home to some of the city's coolest locally owned boutiques carrying a great deal of local and/or Canadian designers.  Joined by their mutual desire to promote local artists and entrepreneurs, a new partnership has formed between Western Canada Fashion Week and the Old Strathcona Business Association.  This season and onwards, Whyte Avenue will be turned into Fashion Avenue during Fashion Week!  The Ave will come to life in a fashion frenzy and Old Strathcona businesses are encouraged to participate!

Shops along Whyte Avenue and in the Old Strathcona area will be offering  promotions and running contests during Fashion Week.  Hopefully this will bring more awareness about Fashion Week, the stores on The Ave, the shows and events during the week, and the work of our local, talented designers!  This relationship is long overdue and the results will be mutually beneficial to both local business and Western Canada Fashion Week!

In addition to all the in-store action, Whyte Ave retailers will also get to present their fashions on the runway on Fashion Week's opening night!  The Old Strathcona Retail Showcase on March 24th is the ideal way to kick off this season's Fashion Week and we are over the moon!  As soon as we've got all the participants registered, we'll give you the scoop!

Retailers interested in participating in the showcase are encouraged to check out:
Old Strathcona Retail Showcase for details and application information.

Be on the look out for upcoming promotions at your favourite Old Strathcona shops, get involved, and enjoy the positive energy and fun to come on Fashion Avenue!!
