With winter winds blowing in, we are spending more time covered up from head to toe...let's talk about the latter. While socks and legwear have a clear function, there are also many fabrics, styles and patterns out there that they can be functional and fashionable at the same time. Fuzzy wuzzy aloe socks are great from a functional standpoint as they keep your feet warm and moisturized. But as seen below, they tend to come in cheesy colours and are really more for lounging about the house and preventing dry winter feet!
One look that's always caught my eye is pairing socks with heels. There is just something about socks and heels that to me has always screamed "Look at me, I'm an absolute darling." This is especially true when the socks are frilly with lace! For Halloween Row and I dressed up in retro waitress gear and incorporated frilly socks and heels with our outfits. However, I've noticed a resurgence of people wearing frilly socks and lace socks with their day to day outfits...and it looks damn cool!
Drawing on yesterday's post on the holidays, legwear is also fun to add embellishment to and spruce up your outfit! More people are taking on DIY projects and altering their tights and stockings by adding bead-work or sequins. Check out the faux pearls sewn on to these leg warmers! And the Miu Miu party stockings below are to drool over...
