Plaids and Checks

During the spring/summer months, the racks and shelves of every retail outfit are filled with trousers in lighter shades, reflective of the season.  Crisp whites, beiges and soft greys are typically the go-to colours for spring.  Stylish plaid pants are a fab alternative to be on the look out for this spring.

As Row has mentioned in the past, she and I typically have a pre-season mazazine blitz.  This is when we buy a bunch of mags and scan the upcoming styles to see what our 3 or 4 must have pieces are for the next season.  This spring, plaid pants are on my hot list.  I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair for some time now.  Tapered plaid trousers suit the office well, but can also be dressed down enough for more casual weekend activities.

I love love love these Agnona Zegna pants.  The contrast between the white, green and orange colours is striking.  This look isn't for everyone of course.  Wearing grey as the base colour, or finding colours that don't contrast a great deal, is always a safer way to wear plaid.

Unfortunately, it's very easy for plaid to look frumpy, so it's important to pay close attention to the fit of the trousers and to pair them with heels or a nice flowy blouse.

Pleasury Readers, please keep me posted if you come across a really snazzy pair as I'm still searching for the perfect plaid or check pants!

Bisous!
