Birds Of A Feather

One predominant trend that we witnessed during Western Canada Fashion Week's Fall/Winter 2011 showcases, was the usage of feathers.  A few of the designers chose to embellish pieces with feathered trimming or accessories.  That trend, much to my surprise, has already been popping up in much of the spring fashion in stores.  Feathers to me bring to mind winter imagery, so it's interesting to see how  they are interpreted and used in warmer months.

I love feathered hair extensions, so airy, light and flowy.  Seeing so many feathers of varying colours and sizes got me thinking about how great it would be to see stronger aboriginal style influences on the runway...rawhide, feathers, beadwork, etc.  Something to ponder!
